According to National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA), almost 70 percent of high school seniors will have tried alcohol, half will have taken an illegal drug, nearly 40 percent will have smoked a cigarette, and more than 20 percent will have used a prescription drug for a non-medical purpose.

Many factors influence whether an adolescent tries drugs. These may include, peer pressure, family environment,  the availability of drugs within the neighborhood, self-medicating due to mental health or emotional distress, or even their genetic makeup.  For more information on the effects of drugs and alcohol on adolescents and young adults, go to the NIDA website at:

National Institute on Drug Abuse

We realize that no two people are the same and as such we tailor our counseling to meet the specific needs in our young person’s program, ages 13 to 24 years old.

Whether you are struggling with substance abuse, mental health, or other behavioral issues, we will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.
